Avance Apartments

New development providing 45 units of affordable housing opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.

Designed by DAHLIN, Avance includes six one and two-story apartment buildings, and a multipurpose building on a 2.13 acre site. The design of the overall project matches the pre-existing on-site historic home built in 1927. This historic home has been renovated and preserved to serve as an additional residence.

The 12 Studio apartments and 32 one-bedroom apartments have been awarded 25 Section 8 project-based vouchers. These units are affordable and leased to individuals with developmental disabilities earning between 20% to 50% of the Alameda County area median income.

The development includes a photovoltaic array, a laundry facility, a community garden, a central courtyard, on-site resident services and events, with adequate parking for the community. Residents will have access to on-site supportive services and shared indoor amenities that encourage socialization, life skills, wellness, and community engagement.
