April 14th, 2008 - Midstate Construction on schedule for new "smart" student services center at Santa Rosa Junior College
Midstate Construction, prime contractor for site work and building
construction of the $45 million Lawrence A. Bertolini Student Services
Center, reports that the steel framing for the 3-story, 75,000 square
foot structure is well under way only ten weeks after the groundbreaking
ceremonies.
Design highlights of the brick heritage style building provide for
"smart classroom" audio/visual technologies and conference rooms equipped
for teleconferencing. Other construction features are optimum natural
lighting, such as the three-level lobby windows, and floor to ceiling
windows in the expansive dining area.
The Bertolini Center will consolidate a range of student service and
program departments from different locations across campus, including
Career Development, Student Employment, counseling offices, Student
Government, the Puente and Mesa programs, and Student Affairs offices.
Much needed new classrooms are featured in addition to a new Academic
Senate Meeting Room, a spacious cafeteria serving all the campus community,
and conference center facilities.
The Bertolini Center is strategically located adjacent to the new Doyle
Library, administrative offices, and across the street from Emeritus
Hall and other academic buildings. The project will be completed in
late 2009.

April 2nd, 2007- Safeway
Menlo Park

new Menlo Park store. The existing 85k~ square feet Safeway will be
transformed into a Lifestyle Safeway with a unique 65,257 sq ft triangular
floor plan, with main entrance on the hypotenuse. Similar to Mendocino
Marketplace, Santa Rosa; constructed by Midstate in 2002, there will
be 11,500 square feet of additional shops on site and neighborhood shielding
walls. In consideration of the outlying neighborhood, special methods
and hours will be in place to control noise throughout construction.
Once the project is completed, the new Safeway will feature a café with
seating, deli, bank, floral stand and natural light skylights.

March 20th, 2007- Light
Industrial Project
Midstate Construction has completed construction of the first parcel
of Light Industrial Project in Richmond, for owner TRT Properties, LLC.
This new project will eventually develop a single 5.22 acre site into
four separate industrial building parcels. The four buildings, ranging
from 14,400 to 35,600 square feet will house office and manufacturing
space on Goodrick Avenue.
Construction of the first phase developed parcel A, the largest building
at 35,600 square feet, and the 1.97 acre site around it with streets,
lighting and parking. Parcel A includes 30,800 square feet of manufacturing
space and an attached 4,800 square foot office space. Midstate has a
long history of building office/industrial structures and enjoyed working
on this new project with TRT Properties, LLC.

January 15th 2007 - Strawberry
Safeway Awarded Best of 2006 Retail
In the last year Midstate Construction completed a new 44,685 square
foot Safeway and the necessary site work within Strawberry Village,
Mill Valley. Before construction could begin, it was necessary to demolish
the existing 32,000 square foot. Located in Mill Valley, fifteen minutes
north of San Francisco, the entire project caters toward the high end
market it serves. Beyond the scope of a Safeway Lifestyle upgrade, the
exterior facade matches the likewise upgraded Strawberry Village aesthetic.
As the largest retail tenant in the retail center, the exterior is broken
into varying heights and extrusions, to simulate a smaller footprint
and balance the other half of the center which is comprised of smaller
shops. Midstate's adept project management team ensured the grand opening
seven months after demolition of the original Safeway, marking a continued
successful 53 year relationship with Safeway, Inc.
