<strong>ROLE</strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate will become an integral member of the estimating team by pricing projects thoroughly and accurately within stringent time requirements. The candidate will consistently work to establish and grow relationships with the Project Management department, fellow estimators, subcontractors, and company clients in order to grow and maintain successful business operations. The candidate will become a key player in adapting to changing economies and will become an asset in assisting management to achieve future growth goals.</p>
<p><strong>PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Prepare comprehensive and accurate construction project estimates for the complete construction of new commercial and residential construction projects.</li>
<li>Analyze contract drawings to provide take off calculations and develop estimates.</li>
<li>Prepare estimates for the entire project scope of work, including but not limited to site development, concrete, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and prepare estimates as required to price the work of all trades contributing to future project completion. &#8211; Prepare hard bid, negotiated, design/build, and public works project estimates.</li>
<li>Utilize Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure the estimate is completed within realistic field and administrative capabilities.</li>
<li>Read, understand, identify, and price information contained in the contract drawings, contract specifications, and related contract documents.</li>
<li>Solicit subcontractors and answer questions, RFI’s, and act as the liaison between subcontractors and the architect to ensure the scope of work is clear and priced correctly.</li>
<li>Prepare general conditions information based on historic data and forecasting of project requirements.</li>
<li>Research subcontractors, suppliers, and new or improved construction materials to ensure estimates are prepared with the most competitive products and pricing available in the marketplace.</li>
<li>Prepare the Job Book for projects awarded, detailing estimated amount per item of work.</li>
<li>Write subcontract exhibits and purchase orders to identify the contractual work responsibility of each company to be awarded a contract. &#8211; Provide the Project Management department with complete subcontracts, including the prior negotiation of terms and conditions as required to ensure contracts are agreeable to all involved parties.</li>
<li>Establish preliminary budget estimates for clients and/or architects during design development of the project documents</li>
<li>Perform all tasks and provide all support as required by the Chief Estimator.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Strong reading, writing, and personal communication skills</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills.</li>
<li>Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and related construction documents.</li>
<li>Ability to manage and train personnel &#8211; Microsoft Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, and Outlook).</li>

<p>Designed by <strong>PK Architects</strong> of Tempe, Arizona, this expansion project included the construction of a new three-story hotel building and single story conference center totaling 131,300 sq. ft. Site work includes fountains, jacuzzi, fireplaces, landscaping and event piazza. Buildings feature an additional 165 guestrooms, doubling the resorts guest room capacity, increased indoor conference/meeting and pre-function space, totaling 50,000 sq. ft. of indoor and covered outdoor space, fitness studio, coffee/retail shop and a sports themed ultra lounge featuring a six lane bowling alley.</p>
<p>The Meritage Resort is a luxury four-diamond resort set against a hillside vineyard in Napa&#8217;s wine country. The Meritage Resort and Spa offers Tuscan inspired luxury guest accommodations, full service spa, hillside vineyards event and meeting space unparalled in the wine country. <p>Owner <strong>Acacia Lane Senior Apartments, L.P.</strong> and general contractor <strong>Midstate Construction Corporation</strong> recently completed <strong>Acacia Lane Senior Apartments</strong> in Santa Rosa for developer <strong>PEP Housing (Petaluma Ecumenical Properties)</strong>. Developed in collaboration with the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Rosa, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Merritt Community Capital Corporation, Silicon Valley Bank, Bank of Marin and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco; Acacia Lane Senior Apartments opened for residency on June 11, 2012.<span id="more-2845"></span></p>
<p>Designed by <strong>Robert W. Hayes Architects</strong>, Acacia Lane Senior Apartments project transformed 1.32 acres of undeveloped land in east Santa Rosa into an affordable senior living community. The two, three story buildings totaling 37,000 square feet provide 44 units ranging from 600 to 730 square feet. The buildings are connected by a beautiful covered bridge lined with large glass windows which provide panoramic views of the surrounding hills. An on-site, 1,800 square foot community center will be used as community room, library, management office and communal kitchen. Additional on-site features include a small orchard, exercise stations, ADA accessible community planters and landscaped walkways.</p>
<p>Acacia Lane Senior Housing is enrolled in the GreenPoint rating program via the Build It Green resource-efficiency initiative, targeting 134 points of 50 required. Acacia Lane Senior Housing is projected to far exceed the City of Santa Rosa’s point requirements for Build It Green certification and will exceed California Building Code&#8217;s minimum Title 24 energy standards by 45%.</p>

<p>This project is a renovation of an existing 53,000 square foot building. Designed by <strong>DES Architects + Engineers</strong> of Redwood City, this OSHPD 3 medical center is located on North McDowell Boulevard, in Petaluma.</p>

<p>The community health center provides top quality, economically accessible primary health care, obstetrics and gynecology, mental and behavioral health services and more to residents of Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Cotati and the surrounding areas. The facility includes medical, dental, laboratory, administration offices and a center for healthy living.</p>

<p>The work performed by Midstate Construction Corporation and its subcontractors includes demolition of the existing interior, complete interior tenant improvement buildout, new IT infrastructure and equipment and significant mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. Exterior renovations include ADA upgrades, new energy efficient roofing and window systems, new canopy and site improvements.</p>

<p><strong>Foss Creek Court</strong>, a new affordable housing community built by general contractor <strong>Midstate Construction Corporation</strong> for developer <strong>Eden Housing</strong> has been selected for a second prestigious industry award, the Gold Nugget Award of Merit. Located in Healdsburg, Foss Creek Court was previously recognized by the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition as the Best Rural Tax Credit Project in the country.</p>

<p>Designed by <strong>BAR Architects</strong> of San Francisco, these 11, two and three story structures totaling 80,000 square feet provide 64 units of affordable housing.  Each unit varying from 670 square foot flat to 1,200 square foot townhouse is fully equipped with kitchen and domestic amenities. Additionally, the 3.1-acre site includes a community garden, children’s playground, pedestrian bridge, 2,900 square foot community building, 500 square foot laundry building and scenic walking path along Foss Creek.</p>

<p>Foss Creek Court was awarded a 2011 Gold Nugget Award of Merit in the Affordable Project under 30 du/acre by the Pacific Coast Builder&#8217;s Conference on June 23, 2011 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.</p>

<p>Developer <a href="http://www.burbankhousing.org/">Burbank Housing Development Corporation</a> and general contractor <a href="http://www.midstateconstruction.com/">Midstate Construction Corporation</a> achieved certificate of occupancy for Amorosa Village Phase 2, the first completed phase of the new 150 unit affordable housing construction project in Santa Rosa.</p>

<p>Designed by <a href="http://www.hunthalejones.com/">Hunt Hale Jones Architects</a> of San Francisco, these two and three story buildings totaling 65,700 square feet will provide 53 units of affordable housing via six structures. Each apartment varying from 400 square foot studio to 1,300 square foot three-bedroom is fully equipped with kitchen and domestic amenities. Larger units feature laundry facilities. Additionally, the 5.08-acre site includes a community garden, playground, mailroom, laundry facilities and a pavilion. A 2,900 square foot community building is shared with Amorosa Village Phase 1.</p>

<div>PETALUMA, California (March 22, 2011) – Owner <strong>Acacia Lane Senior Apartments, L.P</strong>.and developer <strong>Petaluma Ecumenical Properties</strong> entered into contract with <strong>Midstate Construction Corporation</strong> as the general contractor for the Acacia Lane Senior Housingproject in Santa Rosa, California. Developed in collaboration with the Department of Housingand and Urban Development, <strong>Acacia Lane Senior Housing</strong>is scheduled for commencement in the beginning of April.</p>

<p>The Acacia Lane Senior Housing project will transform 1.32 acres of undeveloped land in east Santa Rosa into an affordable senior living community. The two, three-story buildings will house 44 units ranging from 600 to 730 square feet. These buildings total 37,000 square feet. An onsite, 1,800 square foot community center will be used as community room, library and management office. Additional on-site features include exercise stations, ADA accessible community planters and landscaped walkways.</p>
<p>Designed by <strong>Robert W. Hayes + Associates</strong>; Acacia Lane Senior Housing will apply for GreenPoint rating via the <strong>Build It Green</strong> resource-efficiency initiative. Acacia Lane Senior Housing is projected to far exceed the City of Santa Rosaʼs point requirements for Build It Green certification.</p>
