Contract Award for Acacia Lane Senior Housing

PETALUMA, California (March 22, 2011) – Owner Acacia Lane Senior Apartments, L.P.and developer Petaluma Ecumenical Properties entered into contract with Midstate Construction Corporation as the general contractor for the Acacia Lane Senior Housingproject in Santa Rosa, California. Developed in collaboration with the Department of Housingand and Urban Development, Acacia Lane Senior Housing is scheduled for commencement in the beginning of April.

The Acacia Lane Senior Housing project will transform 1.32 acres of undeveloped land in east Santa Rosa into an affordable senior living community. The two, three-story buildings will house 44 units ranging from 600 to 730 square feet. These buildings total 37,000 square feet. An onsite, 1,800 square foot community center will be used as community room, library and management office. Additional on-site features include exercise stations, ADA accessible community planters and landscaped walkways.

Designed by Robert W. Hayes + Associates; Acacia Lane Senior Housing will apply for GreenPoint rating via the Build It Green resource-efficiency initiative. Acacia Lane Senior Housing is projected to far exceed the City of Santa Rosaʼs point requirements for Build It Green certification.



Midstate Construction Corporation and Burbank Housing Development Corporation celebrate groundbreaking ceremony for Fife Creek Commons

GUERNEVILLE, California (November 5, 2010) – Developer Burbank Housing Development Corporation and general contractor Midstate Construction Corporation celebrated the groundbreaking event of Fife Creek Commons, a new affordable housing construction project in Guerneville. Scheduled for completion fall 2011.

Designed by Kellogg + Associates of Sebastopol, these nine, two-story structures on top of a raised podium totaling 42,500 square feet will provide 48 units of affordable housing. Each apartment varying from 600 square foot one-bedroom to 1,300 square foot three-bedroom is fully equipped with kitchen, domestic amenities, laundry and outdoor seating area. Additionally, the 1.7-acre site features a children’s playground and 1,700 square foot community center.

Mercy Family Plaza

Mercy Family Plaza, San Francisco – Adaptive reuse and remodel of existing buildings of the former Southern Pacific Hospital into affordable housing. The building, designated as a National Register Historic District, was constructed to historical tax credit standards. It received the National Trust for Historic Preservation Honor Award, the California Preservation Foundation Annual Design Award, and the Governor’s Preservation Award, among many others.



Del Norte Place

Del Norte Place, El Cerrito – New construction of four residential buildings, four story, 135 rental units and 21,000 square feet of ground floor retail space.

Midstate was awarded the Gold Nugget Award of Merit by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference in recognition of excellence and value for the best mixed-use business-residential project, along with the City of El Cerrito Design Award.



Petaluma Avenue Homes

Petaluma Avenue Homes, Sebastopol – New construction of a 40,207 square foot, forty-five unit affordable housing project in Sebastopol.  This is a GreenPoint Rated project and obtained 133 points of 60 necessary.    The development has a large community room with an oversized kitchen, indoor fireplace, playground for the children and a community garden area.  Affordable Housing Associates was the affordable housing developer on this project.  Awarded the 2010 Gold Nugget Grand Award: Multi-Family Project. Awarded Affordable Housing Finance Reader’s Choice award for Best Family Development, 2010



Hillsdale Townhouses

Hillsdale Townhouses, San Jose – Interior and exterior renovation of existing apartment complex, sixteen buildings, forty-eight apartment units, fifteen bedroom additions. Work also includes community room conversion, new laundry room, mail/sun room and pool equipment closet. Mid-Peninsula Housing Coaltion is the affordable housing developer for this project.



Healdsburg Family Housing

Healdsburg Family Housing, Healdsburg – New construction of a 64 unit, 11 buildings, 80,000 square foot affordable housing development in Healdsburg.  This project includes the installation of a pedestrian bridge and the extension of the walking path along Foss Creek.



Casa Grande Senior Residential Apartments

Casa Grande Senior Residential Apartments, Petaluma – New construction of a four building, two story, fifty-eight unit, HUD Capital Advanced project, totaling 42,242 square feet. This project was designed in a semicircle; promoting community. Casa Grande is the first multi-family GreenPoint Rated project in Sonoma County and received 103 points of the 50 necessary. 2009 Governor’s Award: Green Building



Colgan Meadows

Colgan Meadows, Santa Rosa – This new 84-unit affordable housing project in Santa Rosa was recently fêted by the North Bay Business Journal as the 2008 Best Project in Apartments at their annual Top Ten Projects Awards event. This project consists of 25 buildings plus a maintenance structure on four acres at 3000 Dutton Avenue. The residential units range from 1 bedroom studio floor plans to 1 & 2 bedroom apartments and 3 & 4 bedroom townhouses. Families will also enjoy the easy access to schools, shops, and a future park already designated for development by the City of Santa Rosa. Wilford Lane Village

Wilford Lane Village and Park – Midstate Construction completed another successful project with Sonoma County Developer, Burbank Housing Development Corporation. Midstate contracted with Wilford Lane Village, LP to construct Wilford Lane Village and Wilford Lane Village Park, located in Cotati. The 36 unit affordable housing apartment complex sits on 2.4 acres, has 9 buildings, totaling approximately 32,000 square feet. The site includes a community center and park available to the residents and neighboring community. In a superior combined effort, Midstate completed the project two months ahead of schedule.The complex was spaciously designed with craftsman style architectural features, including porches, trellises and warm, soft exterior colors which further enhance the neighborhood. The park is complimentary to the complex and offers a large grassy field, picnic benches and a surrounding paved pathway framed by trees.
