Midstate Construction is nearing completion on a multitude of projects for Harsch Investment Realty, LLC at the South Shore Center in Alameda.

Two main buildings, Building 100 and Building 600 host four different businesses which required tenant improvements in addition to the extensive changes made to the original buildings. Building 600, approximately 32,000 square feet building, underwent significant aesthetic upgrades in addition to structural. Within Building 600, the 19,000 square foot Beverly's Fabrics tenant improvement included improvements to the retail area, break room, restrooms and mezzanine storage area. A 1,900 square foot area of Building 600 was built to a "warm shell" status and then finish and fixtures were installed for tenant Carlin's shoes. Additionally, 700 square feet of space within Building 600 was built to "warm shell" for tenant Juice Plus, who then completed the finish and fixtures.

Building 100 is a renovation of an existing 27,000 building on the South Shore Center site. 500 linear feet of existing façade was removed and portions of it were relocated to enlarge the building. A new plaster and cedar siding façade was then constructed. A 40-ft tall corner tower and steel trellises were added as focal points for this building. The project was conducted in two phases; the south west facades were completed first, followed by the east façade. The east façade was delayed while a connected building was vacated and partially demolished to make room for the new construction.

Within Building 100, a single 3,700 square foot tenant space was built and finished with the exception of flooring. We have just commenced work on the underground utility portion of Building 200. Additional shops and a new Safeway will follow.
